Salvation Testimonial:
In May of 2001, I approached my Pastor regarding my salvation. I expressed to him that I was not certain of my salvation. Although I had made a decision for Christ at a young age, there were no significant changes in my life that expressed that decision. After returning to a Church after a substantial number of years, I realized that my life was not a reflection of those Christian men & women that I was now surrounded by almost daily. I knew that my life that I had been living was not a life of seeking God’s will. I was a man surrendering to the passions & lusts of this world such as pornography, immorality, and abuses of alcohol & marijuana. Although I had been a ‘good person’ I knew my life was not what God wanted it to be. I agreed that I truly needed Christ in my life, and at such time, I fully surrendered to Him and repented of my sins and asked God to be Lord of my life. God immediately began working in my life & heart. I immediately stopped cussing. I did not stop using alcohol until a few months later, but I was convicted regularly when I would drink, and although I was not a consistent user prior to my salvation, I stopped smoking marijuana. I no longer desire the life of immoral behavior, and I am no longer attracted to or engaged in the use of pornography. I know I am saved by God’s grace through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus & the atoning work He did on the cross for my sins. I am not a perfect man, but I believe I am covered by Jesus’ blood, and I am being continually sanctified by His and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Calling Testimonial:
After my salvation in May of 2001, I began getting involved more in the life & ministry of my local Church. While I had been involved with a couple of things prior to my salvation, all of that immediately changed after my salvation. My participation in Sunday School grew and my desire to grow in God’s Word increased significantly. I knew early in my salvation that I was to be involved with learning and growing. I began teaching a Sunday School class in the Single’s Ministry in September 0f 2001. The class grew from 6 +/- regular attendees to a group in the 20’s +/-. I was not the greatest teacher, but my knowledge was increasing and I desired more and more after the things of God. Through God’s leading and direction, I have since been involved with missions work, local and abroad, I have been able to preach on occasion to adults within the fold of my home church, and I have assisted in teaching and witnessing to the saved and the lost. God has used my life to plant seeds in the hearts of His children, and I have been a witness to those that God has brought to salvation.
As a young man, I desired to be able to help others in some capacity, and I believe it has always been God’s will and leading in my life. It could not occur however until I surrendered my life to Him. He is now using me, and I know He is going to continue to use and grow me throughout the rest of my life in this body. I am presently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s, Leavell College Extension at First Baptist Church of Brandon. The degree I am seeking is in Biblical Ministries.
God has given me a desire for apologetics, dialogue, and discipleship in the life of believers and unbelievers. I pray that this calling is sure and I will stand firm in the faith of the high calling of my Lord, Christ Jesus.
